Who this covers
DAY/OS makes operations software for ski areas. This policy covers this website, our demo mountains, and the information we hold as the provider of DAY/OS.
When a mountain uses DAY/OS, the mountain decides what it records about its guests, staff and patients, and is responsible for that information. We store and process it on the mountain's behalf, only to run DAY/OS for them. If you are a guest of a mountain and have a question about your information, ask the mountain first; we will help them answer.
What we collect
From this website
- What you send on the Contact page: your name, mountain, role, email, phone and message.
- Basic request logs (address, browser, page, time) kept for security and to fix problems. We do not use advertising trackers or sell information.
From a demo mountain
- The name and email you give to start it, and how the demo is used, so we can improve it and follow up if you asked us to. A demo never sends email or takes payments, and is deleted after it ends.
From mountains that use DAY/OS
- Account details for each login: name, email or username, role, and sign-in records.
- What the mountain records in DAY/OS: customers, sales, rentals, lessons, waivers, staff schedules and hours, documents, and ski patrol care reports.
- Billing details for the mountain's subscription: plan, billing email and payment status. Card and bank numbers go to Stripe and never reach us.
How we use it
- To run DAY/OS for the mountain, keep it secure, back it up and fix problems.
- To answer what you sent us, and to set up a trial you asked for.
- To send service email: sign-in, billing notices and changes that affect you.
- Patrol injury counts are shared with other mountains only when a mountain opts in to the injury network, and only as counts with small numbers hidden. No patient names or details leave the mountain.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run DAY/OS, under contract, for that purpose:
- Google Cloud, which hosts DAY/OS and its database in the United States.
- Stripe, which takes card and bank payments for mountains and for subscriptions.
- Postmark, which delivers email, and a text message provider when a mountain sends texts.
We share information when the law requires it, and tell the mountain first when the law allows. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
A mountain's records are kept while it uses DAY/OS, and the mountain can export them at any time. When a mountain leaves, we delete its records after it has had the chance to export them, except where the law requires us to keep something. Contact requests are kept while we are talking with you and for up to two years after.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, through the Contact page. If the information belongs to a mountain's records, we will pass your request to the mountain.
- Every marketing email or text a mountain sends through DAY/OS has a way to stop them.
- Residents of some states have further rights under their state's privacy law; we honor them.
Security
See Security for how we protect information, including what we have not done yet.
Children
This website is not for children. Mountains may record children as guests, lesson students or patients, with a parent or guardian; that information is the mountain's, handled as above.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. Mountains are told of changes that affect them.
