Ski area POS: a fast ticket window on a busy Saturday.

Point of sale for the ticket window, the rental counter and the ski school desk: lift tickets, passes, lessons, rentals and gift cards in one basket, paid by cash, gift card or card on a Stripe smart reader.

Illustration of a skier buying a ticket at the lodge window

The line at the window is the first thing guests remember.

A register built for retail asks too many questions, and a card terminal that doesn't talk to it means typing every amount twice. Verdynt/OS sells the way a ski area sells: a day ticket in two taps, the card reader charged for the exact total, and the till counted at close.

  • A card terminal that doesn't talk to the register
  • Typing every amount twice
  • A paper list of gift card balances
  • Counting the drawer against a guess
  • A spreadsheet for end-of-day totals

Everything the counter sells, in one basket.

Sell works with Products and prices for what you charge, and with Money for the till and the day's totals.

Selling

A day ticket in two taps, a family in one basket.

What it does
  • Quick sale: day tickets skip the customer form
  • Lift tickets, season passes, lessons, rentals, programs and gift cards together
  • Prices by guest type: Adult, Child, Senior, or your own, such as College or Local
  • Prices by date, promo codes and sales tax rules you set once
  • Receipts for every sale

Taking payment

Card on the reader, cash with the change in large type.

Card payments go straight into your own Stripe account. Verdynt/OS never holds the money.
What it does
  • Charge on a Stripe smart reader: the guest taps, inserts or swipes
  • Cash buttons for exact, $20, $50 and $100
  • Gift cards, and more than one way to pay on a sale
  • A reader payment left behind when a sale is closed is refunded for you
  • Refunds need a reason, and the reason is kept

Closing out

The drawer counted against what it should hold.

What it does
  • Till drawers counted against what the system expects, with a note when the count is off
  • Daily reconciliation of card payments
  • The day's sales, tax collected, refunds and gift cards on the Today screen
  • Exports for sales, payments and refunds

One register for every counter on the mountain.

The ticket window

Day tickets and passes, with RFID cards loaded at the counter and scanned at the lift.

The rental shop

Rental contracts and deposits, with the gear and the signed waiver on the same record.

The ski school desk

Lessons and packages sold, and booked into a session in the same step.

Any counter computer

It runs in a web browser on the computers and tablets you have, with nothing to install.

Questions ticket office managers ask.

Which card reader does it use?

A Stripe smart reader, such as the Stripe Reader S700. You pair it once under Billing, then choose Charge on reader at checkout, and the reader shows the exact total.

Where does the card money go?

Straight into your mountain's own Stripe account, on Stripe's usual payout schedule. Verdynt/OS never holds your money.

Can we price adults, children and seniors differently?

Yes. Every product can have its own price for each guest type, and you can add your own types, such as College, Local or Military, and change their names and order.

Does it do gift cards?

Yes. Sell gift cards at the counter or online and take them as payment, with each card's balance kept.

Can we try it before we buy?

Yes. The demo builds a sample mountain in a minute with sales already in it, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial with no card needed.
