Ski area staff scheduling: every shift covered before the first chair.

A week of shifts for lifts, the ticket window, rentals, ski school and food, with unfilled shifts flagged, staffing needs from the tickets already sold, a time clock at the staff entrance and certifications that warn before they expire.

Seasonal crews, weather and weekends don't fit a spreadsheet.

Half the crew is new each season, a powder day doubles the line, and a lift attendant whose certification ran out can't work the lift. Verdynt/OS puts the schedule, the hours and the certifications in one place, next to the tickets you've sold.

  • A schedule spreadsheet emailed every week
  • A group text to fill an open shift
  • Paper timesheets
  • Certification dates in someone's head

The crew, the week and the hours.

Staff and schedule works on its own, and uses Sell and the online shop to suggest how many people a day needs.

Questions department heads ask.

How does it know how many people we need?

It looks at the tickets already sold for the day and the season passes you expect, and suggests staffing for the day next to the schedule.

How do staff see their shifts?

When you publish the week, each person gets their shifts in their Inbox, which they can open on their own phone.

How does clocking in work?

A tablet at the staff entrance runs the time clock. Staff clock in and out with a PIN or a badge, and the hours and overtime are ready for payroll.

Does it track certifications?

Yes. Each certification has an expiry date, and the ones that run out soon are flagged.

What about ski patrol schedules?

Ski patrol has its own schedule, cover requests and volunteer days in the Patrol app, built for paid and volunteer patrols.
